Would you relish the opportunity to teach students the subjects of Criminology and Psychology within a college setting?
At Cirencester College, you would have the opportunity of teaching enthusiastic learners about the disciplines of criminology and psychology.
Our level 3 criminology course dives deep into the criminal world, journeying through an analysis of criminal acts, the legal implications of crime, and preventative measures. Our psychology A level on the other hand takes students into the minds of criminals, businesses, athletes, children amongst other populations; exploring the reasons for their behaviours.
If you have a background in the sector or previous experience teaching in associated subjects like sociology or psychology, then you would be well-suited to teaching criminology too. You would teach surrounded by a committed and supportive team who will readily share resources and best practices, and offer support whenever required. Within this environment we would help you further develop as a practitioner, as you in turn develop your students.
Both the criminology and psychology courses are two of the largest at the college with hundreds of students currently enrolled onto each. If you want the opportunity to teach on the criminology and psychology team we would like to hear from you.
The post holder will be expected to:
- Teach to a high standard, and develop the relevant skills to teach truly outstanding provision
- Be willing to teach, in-part, across other subjects if required (e.g., psychology)
- Candidates should have a commitment to providing high quality learning to enable all learners to achieve their full potential. The ability to truly work as a team player is also essential. The post holder will be expected to demonstrate outstanding organisational and interpersonal skills.
- Candidates should possess either proven experience in industry or a good honours degree in a related subject (or a combination of both). Ideally you will hold a teaching qualification, or be committed to obtain a suitable qualification once in post.
This role is compatible with the Taking Teaching Further (TTF) initiative. TTF is designed to help unqualified teachers gain experience and train to be a qualified teacher.
