Salary range: £18,700 pro-rata

September pay award pending: £19,261 pro-rata

Required from: Immediate start available

Contract: Permanent, Term Time Only, flexible days up to 32.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday 9am to 4pm)

We currently have some vacancies for Learning Support Workers to join our growing team.  This is a permanent term-time only role.  We can offer a number of days to suit, up to 5 days a week.  We require candidates to be able to work 9-4pm with ½ for lunch.  Occasional meetings and training between 4 – 5pm.  We are open to discussing hours to suit for the right candidates.

This is an interesting and varied job role that comes with the added bonus of enabling young people to reach their full potential.  You will be supporting specific students in a range of classes from Functional Skills to A levels, working both in class and with small groups providing targeted support.

The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, reliable and have great communication skills. This is an ideal opportunity for a person keen to gain some experience of working within a student facing role in an educational establishment.  We will provide a thorough training package, as well as hands on experience shadowing experienced and senior staff members. 

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a good level of general education, including GCSE English and Maths Grade 4 / C or above, and who would be confident supporting in both areas.
  • Has a positive interest in working with young people and happy to supervise small study groups and workshops.
  • Has the ability to work calmly.
  • Is efficient at record keeping
